Let’s Come Together for a March for Animals!
❗ California shelters are experiencing a surge in pet euthanasia rates, reaching a three-year high in 2023, with many young, healthy animals being euthanized due to lack of space.
❗ Euthanasia rates have increased significantly, with some shelters reporting rates as high as 32-55%.
❗ Private rescues are struggling to save thousands of animals and can no longer keep up with the flow, and social media is filled with desperate pleas for help.
❗ Affordable spay-neuter services are scarce, with public shelters stopping these services and private clinics charging over $1,000.
❗ Public shelters often refuse to take in animals, exacerbating the overpopulation crisis.
❗ Animal control organizations are failing to provide essential services like low-cost spay-neuter programs and enforcement of breeding laws.
❗ We Need Solutions for Animals: Humane strategies to address Animal Overpopulation - comprehensive spay-neuter support at state level, plus strengthening and enforcement of responsible breeding laws.
Let's stand up for the dignity that animals deserve. Without preventative measures, such as increased spay-neuter support and strict controls on illegal breeding, this crisis will only worsen, forcing shelters to increase euthanasia.
Join us in the march and demand humane solutions for animals. Stand up and be a voice for those who cannot speak. Together, we can create a brighter future for our beloved animals.
