Low-Cost Spay and Neuter/TNR Services Availability in California

Please Take a Survey on Low Cost Spay-Neuter Availability in Your Area.

California’s pet overpopulation crisis is at a breaking point. With the highest municipal shelter euthanasia rate  with an average of 17% over three years—twice the national rate and highest homeless animal population in the U.S.

Low-cost spay/neuter services are a critical factor in controlling pet overpopulation in our state. With limited access to affordable sterilization, more animals are being born, contributing to the overcrowding of shelters and rescues, many of which are already beyond capacity.

As a result, countless pets face abandonment, neglect, or euthanasia due to the lack of space and resources. Despite the growing crisis, affordable spay/neuter services remain inaccessible or insufficient in many areas in California, leaving pet owners and rescuers without viable options.

To better understand the availability and challenges of low-cost spay/neuter services, we are conducting a short survey. Your input will help identify gaps and strengthen advocacy efforts for increased funding and accessibility. Please take a moment to share your experience—it can make a real difference for animals in need.
